Overview

ScoreKeep ("the App") is a sports scorekeeping application developed by Robert McIntosh. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Game Data

• Game scores, shots, and period information
• Play-by-play events (goals, penalties, assists)
• Player rosters (names, jersey numbers, positions)
• Game timing and attendance information

Official Information

• Names and roles of game officials (referees, linesmen, scorers, timekeepers)
• Certification numbers
• Email addresses and phone numbers (when provided for game records)

Signatures

• Digital signatures (drawn or typed) for roster confirmation and game certification
• Signer name and timestamp
• Device type (e.g., "iOS Device") at time of signing

Authentication

The App uses anonymous authentication. No email address, password, or personal account is required to use the App. Access is managed through access codes, which are not tied to personal identity.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Photos or camera access
• Contacts
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Analytics or usage tracking data
• Cookies or browsing history

How We Use Your Information

All data collected is used solely for the purpose of sports scorekeeping:

• Recording and displaying game scores and statistics
• Generating official scoresheets (PDF)
• Syncing game data across devices for real-time scorekeeping
• Maintaining official game records with signatures

Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Game data is stored locally on your device using a SQLite database.
• Cloud Storage: Game data is synced to Google Firebase (Firestore) for real-time collaboration and backup. Scoresheet PDFs are stored in Firebase Storage.
• Data Transmission: All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party service:

• Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, Storage) — for data storage, anonymous authentication, and file storage. Firebase's privacy policy can be found at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

We do not share your data with any other third parties. We do not sell, trade, or rent your information.

Data Retention

• Game data is retained as long as the associated access code is active.
• Local data remains on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the App.
• You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email below.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Game rosters may include player names and jersey numbers as part of standard scorekeeping. No additional personal information is collected from players.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
